A very cool website, SpaceWeatherLive.com tracks global geometric activity and provides a real-time map of the auroral oval.  It gives great information on when, where and how best to see the aurora, as well as measuring the electrons and protons carried on the solar winds.  Poke around their site a bit and you will also find webcams from Norway, Finland, and Sweden, hopefully catching a great view of the Northern Lights when the time is right.  Definitely a site to spend some time on!
